Pragmatic Equity: Purpose and Mission

As our society continuously strives to improve and perfect its commitment to equity and inclusion - to its often-neglected ideals of fairness and consideration for all - we must work to ensure that we are effectively pursuing and achieving our goals.

Being effective is not simply a matter of having the right ideals and loyalties. It also requires:

Fitting good solutions to the right problems. Have we identified the precise problems we want to solve? Are our solutions tailored to truly address those problems? Have costs and benefits been fully considered?

Focus on effectiveness. How effective are our current approaches? How effective have we been in the past? How effective will we be in the future? How do we know?

Accountability. Who is responsible for developing and executing proposals? What standards do they follow? Who are they accountable to?

This website is a collection of resources to support those of us who care about pragmatic equity. It provides links to information, analysis, and news stories about equity intiatives as they are developed and implemented across the United States and Canada.

It is a work in progress as resources will be added and re-organized over time.
